Crafts at 'cousin camp' with Nana. New Neigbours!
I love this basket especially because I want to foster a deep love and respect for Native American culture in my children. Theo made the mother, baby and animals from modeling clay, the baskets were in the garage, nature items were collected, and Nana found the leather for the teepee.
One morning we woke up and discovered a fairy and gnome had moved into our tree. When the kids down the street saw it, the eldest, who was 7 yrs old ,asked me if it was real and of course I said yes. His two younger sisters shouted to our neighbour across the street that we had fairies move in to which she replied they had some fairies living in their tree too. There was silence then one of them wondered aloud why a fairy hadn't come to their house. I wasn't sure how far I should go but then my daughter told her to wait for a full moon and put out out lavender chocolate. She then turned to me with a knowing smile. Oh to be 8 years old and too quickly the veil is lifted.
As usual, I was more excited than my kids to test out this German-made cable car. It's better than I thought because it came with clamps so you can move it around inside or outside. This is what I would call age appropriate science and technology. Such an innovative toy yet so simple! And both kids could assemble it but I had to tighten it and figure out the clamp position- which wasn't so simple for me!
The Gnome and Fairy door are from Natural Pod and the Cable car is from Inquisitivekids . Native American in apple basket, from the ever resourceful Nana!
Thank you for the Inquisitivekids link. I love the all the cable cars. I can think of a birthday boy who would love the cable baskets. Do you think it might be a duplicate? Sue
